Funerals

When a loved one leaves the world, it is hard to know what to do.  B’nai Amoona will be there for you to help accompany your beloved in a dignified and meaningful way. If your beloved family member is seriously ill and at risk of dying, we will come and be present with you as much as we are able in those difficult moments. When the body of your loved one no longer can hold the soul, we ask that you contact one of the Jewish memorial homes below to make preliminary arrangements.

Together with your choice of service, we will determine a date, time and location for the ritual of Levaya (The Hebrew word for funeral).

The officiating member of the Klei Kodesh will meet with the family ahead of the service to review the ritual and begin the process of mourning through the sharing of stories.  We strive to create a ritual that best honors the generations of inherited tradition and the way that a person lived in life.

A funeral is an act of Chesed Shel Emet, the truest form of love.  We will surround your beloved family member with love through the service, and the surviving family and friends after the service.

After the service is concluded, B’nai Amoona Klei Kodesh and leaders will assist in the ritual of Shiva services, according to the needs of the family.

Please contact the Klei Kodesh office at 314-576-9990 x131 or in an emergency, on Shabbat or after normal business hours;  please call 314-576-9990 x7.
