Our Torah is truly an Etz Chayim, a Tree of Life. It provides guidance and direction for all the various aspects of our lives. In the Book of Devarim (4:15), there is a powerful verse, which we are continually playing over and over in our minds these days. “Venishmartem Meod Lenafshotechem – Take every possible precaution to protect and preserve your lives”.
As we struggle with the many challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we must focus our full attention on the health, safety, and wellbeing of our individual and Shul families. With this in mind, effective Thursday, March 19, we are closing our campus and postponing or canceling all in-person services, classes, events, programs and activities through April 19th, 2020.
We will, of course, be in regular communication with our membership as we receive and assimilate the information being provided to us by our healthcare professionals of record, as well as the recommendations of our local, state and federal agencies.
Although our Mason Road facility will be closed for the next few weeks, the holy work of our Shul continues! During this time of necessary “physical social distancing,” BA is committed to providing ongoing opportunities to pray, study, Schmooze, Kibbitz and congregate virtually. An email will be sent tomorrow with additional information.
During this unprecedented time, many of us will be facing unexpected health, financial, spiritual, and emotional challenges. Some of us may experience difficulty in securing medical care, medications, or even groceries. Your Shul, in partnership with our local Jewish Federation and the Jewish Family Services, is here to help. If you need more information about the above services, please contact Liessa Alperin at 314-324-0936.
In addition, if you would like to spend some time with a member of our Klei Kodesh Team, please do not hesitate to reach out.
