Shalom,
Our construction is moving forward, on time, and now we can actually begin to see the major changes and upgrades taking place all over our campus!
This Shabbat, January 12, 2019, we return to our Main Sanctuary for our first Bat Mitzvah of the year.
In the Sanctuary, besides the new ceiling tiles and fresh paint on every wall, we have installed brand new carpet, flooring, LED and backdrop lighting, as well as air conditioning and heating systems. In addition, we removed 22 seats, from various locations, to allow sacred spaces for our members who use mobility devices. If you need assistance finding these areas, please ask one of our Shabbat Greeters.
As you enter the north side of the Sanctuary, be sure to take a peek at, and feel free to use, our new accessible restrooms, our renovated Bride’s Room and/or our NEW infant care space complete with a changing table, sink and a TV monitor, so while feeding a child, you are still able to watch the services taking place in our Main Sanctuary.
If you are streaming, you will notice our new high definition camera broadcasting and recording our services.
This Shabbat, as we celebrate the Bat Mitzvah of Mollie Nathanson, daughter of Chazzan Sharon and Michael, both the north and south entrances will be open. In addition, we will offer valet parking on the north side for those who may have trouble getting from the parking lots to the building. In addition, our Guller Banquet Hall will be open for Kiddush, which has fresh paint, new flooring, new LED lighting, new ceiling (sound dampening) tiles, and 30 new speakers throughout all three sections. Moreover, we are very excited that work has begun on the new outside patio.
On Monday, January 14, we will once again close the south entrance and close off the restrooms on the south side of the Sanctuary so we can begin the remodeling of that area.
On Monday, February 4, we will move our morning and evening Minyanim as well as our Friday evening services to the Main Sanctuary. This will clear the way for the existing Chapel to be relocated and renovated. You will be heartened to know all of our pews are being donated to an organization that teaches young adults how to make useful items out of various wood pieces.
Construction on our new Chapel and Auditorium started the first week of January; the stage in the Auditorium has been demolished and the new wall separating the Chapel and Auditorium has already been built.
As I indicated in a previous correspondence, both of our summer camps (Camp B'nai Ami and Camp Ramot Amoona) will be held offsite at Whitfield School so we can spend that time renovating all of our classrooms.
Thank you, again, for your ongoing patience. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
