Adult Education Updates
A Thinking Person's Judaism will NOT meet this Sunday, November 10.
A Thinking Person's Judaism will return on Sunday, November 17 at 10:30 am, for a special morning of study. The CJLS is sponsoring the International Seminar for Halakhic Study, a day on which Conservative/Masorti communities will come together to study a specific Teshuvah of the CJLS. B'nai Amoona will be participating through A Thinking Person's Judaism class facilitated by Rabbi Neal.
The purpose of the Seminar is to show how our spiritual values and ethical ideals shape our Halakhic practice, to emphasize the importance of Halakhah and the study of Halakhah among Conservative/Masorti Jews, and to create a sense of a world-wide community among Conservative/Masorti congregations and schools. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Please join us for a special interfaith Torah For Today Series facilitated by Rabbi Neal Rose - An Imam, a Priest, and a Minister Walk into a Shul. One Shabbat a month, our Torah For Today class will welcome a guest speaker who practices a different faith. Please see the schedule below and keep an eye on your inbox for more information. November 23 - Sister Carla Mae Streeter, Dominican of the Congregation of Catherine of Sienain

J Street St. Louis presents: An Evening with Breaking the Silence Wednesday, November 13, at 7:00 pm at Congregation B'nai Amoona
When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised annexation of the West Bank during Israel’s election campaign last month, tension in the region reached a new high. Here in the US, it can be difficult to understand the situation on the ground. That’s why J Street is proud to partner with the New Israel Fund to bring former IDF soldiers who have served in the West Bank to share their experiences. Click here for more info .

How to navigate the site: 1. Under the Volunteering box, click on “Opportunities-Help Wanted.” 2. Sign into the system with your phone number. Click on “add yourself” to input your name and contact information, if you are not already in the system. 3. Click on the month that you want to volunteer to find available dates, times, and roles.
Seeking Community Gatekeepers
Jewish Family & Children’s Service is seeking “community connectors” to serve as Gatekeepers for vulnerable seniors. A Gatekeeper helps keep an eye out for relatives, neighbors, or friends who may be struggling with the challenges of aging. The JF&CS team will reach out to and work with these identified seniors one-on-one to develop a plan that helps them maintain independence, confidence, and a sense of connection to the local community. If you are interested in learning more about how you can serve as a gatekeeper, or if know of someone who could benefit from senior support, please reach out to Ken Schwartz at 314-812-9320 or kschwartz@jfcs-stl.org .
