Summary
Shalom Chaverim and Chaverot,
We are thrilled for the upcoming Days of Awe and this email is to inform you of our current High Holy Day health and safety protocols.
Our staff and Klei Kodesh continually work with our Doctors of B’nai Amoona (DOBA) Committee to make sure our High Holy Day offerings are not only moving and meaningful, but also safe for all.
It is with this in mind, that our Board of Trustees has voted to only allow vaccinated members and guests to gather in person this year. In addition to showing a vaccination card, we are also requiring adults and children ages 2 and older to wear a face mask. Vaccinated individuals ages 12 and older will be permitted inside the building for adult programming with a vaccination card. Children under 12 years old and their vaccinated family members are invited to join us for our Outdoor Services (anyone 12 and older will be required to show their vaccination cards). Unvaccinated individuals are invited to join us via live streaming for our Main Services.
As we know, medical findings change daily and guide in the recommendations offered by our DOBA Committee, the CDC and our local and state Health Departments. We take these recommendations very seriously and our High Holy Day schedule may change at any time. For more information about our latest health and safety protocols, please see the FAQ section of this email.
Additionally, you may click the green button below to read our High Holy Day magazine that includes our High Holy Day Service schedule and other important information. Please feel free to contact Anita Kraus with any questions at 314-576-3688 or anita@bnaiamoona.com.
Who can attend High Holy Day Services? *In-Person Indoor Servicescan be attended by vaccinated individuals ages 12 years and older with a vaccination card and face mask.
*In-Person Outdoor Youth Servicescan be attended by unvaccinated children under 12 years old and their vaccinated family members (anyone ages 12 and older will need to present their vaccination card). Face masks are to be worn by anyone 2 years and older.
*All in-person High Holy Day Services require online registration. Registration will be available this Friday.
Virtual Servicescan be attended by unvaccinated individuals as well as anyone who wishes to stream our Services online.
How will vaccination statuses be checked? Vaccination cards will need to be presented upon arrival to High Holy Day Services. We will need to see an original vaccine card or a mobile photo of it. Due to the nature of this issue, the use of a phone for this reason is permitted on Yontif.
Can people who have health issues preventing them from being able to get the vaccine attend in-person High Holy Day Services? We understand that there are many reasons individuals may not receive the Covid-19 vaccine. At this time we are following the recommendations of our DOBA Committee and area health professionals and only allowing vaccinated individuals into our building during High Holy Days. We are unable to make exceptions and invite unvaccinated individuals to join us online during virtual High Holy Day Services.
Additionally, we want to encourage anywho who is eligible to get the Covid-19 vaccine to do so - it's a Mitzvah to take care of one another and ourselves.
What can I expect during Virtual Services? You can expect meaningful and engaging virtual High Holy Day Services. Main Sanctuary Services will stream live on our website and Facebook Page. Guller Chapel Services and programs will stream live on our website, Facebook Page and "Kosher Zoom." You are welcome to borrow a High Holy Day Machzor to use during virtual Services.
Does this apply to Shabbat Services as well? Currently, this only applies to our High Holy Day Services. We will continue to evaluate our health and safety protocols as needed for all other Services and programs.
Is there anything else I should know? The health and safety of our congregation and community remain our top priority as we navigate through the pandemic. We will continue to follow the recommendations made by our DOBA Committee, the CDC and the Missouri and St. Louis Country Health Departments; it is possible that our protocols may change with little notice. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
