Upcoming Events
Shabbat Shirah, February 4 8:30 am: Nosh, 9:00 am: Services begin
B'nai Amoona joins synagogues worldwide to celebrate Shabbat Shirah, the Shabbat of Song! Shabbat Shirah coincides with the Torah reading of Parashat Beshalach in which we chant Moses’ Song at the Sea as well as Miriam’s song, in celebration of crossing the Sea of Reeds after leaving Egypt. The Haftarah, the selection from Prophets that morning, is Devorah’s Song. Hence the name, Shabbat of Song! Please join us!
Shabbat Shirah is generously sponsored by Lester Goldman and Family in loving memory of Judy Goldman (Z"L).
PLEASE NOTE THE SPECIAL TIME Shabbat School, February 4 at 10:30 am

Tu B'Shevat Book Talk with Diane Bleyer, Sunday, February 5 Minyan at 6:15 pm / Program and Snacks at 6:30 pm We are thrilled to have author Diane Bleyer with us for a special Tu B'Shevat event and book talk. Bleyer's novel, The Second Chance, centers on a future where climate change has wreaked havoc worldwide and the human race is taking desperate measures to survive.
While this may be a fiction novel, it brings to light the importance of Tikkun Olam (repairing our world) and the reality that individual and community decisions will affect our children’s and grandchildren’s futures as well as those who come after. Diane was honored to participate in the 2022 Missouri’s Own Program in the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival.
A limited number of books will be on hand at this event. We invite you to come to Minyan and stay for the program. No registration required.

February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month!
Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) has become a unifying factor in the Jewish community, prompting communities to elevate the voices of people with disabilities and mental health conditions. Nearly 20% of the population live with a disability and/or a mental health condition. People with disabilities want to be accepted, respected, and regarded as full participants in all the things your community provides – just like anyone else. The mission of JDAIM is to unite Jewish communities worldwide to raise awareness and champion the rights of all Jews to be accepted and included in all aspects of Jewish and community life.
We will honor JDAIM with a short program, Voices from the Mount, taking place on Shabbat Morning, February 11 - all are welcome to join us to learn and celebrate. Please keep an eye out for more details.
