Sisterhood
Book Club B'nai Amoona's Sisterhood has a Book Club that we share with Kol Rinah's Sisterhood. Meetings are on the 4th Thursday of each month at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters on Lindbergh Blvd (across from Plaza Frontenac) from 10:00 - 11:30 am. New members are always welcome! You do not need to attend every month, just come when you can, nor is it required that you have read (or finished reading) the book selection for the month!

Volunteers Needed for Camp The Jewish Coalition for New Americans is looking for volunteers for its summer camp. Volunteers should be at least 13 years old. Camp will be from 7/8-8/1 Monday through Thursday between 8:00 am and 12:30 pm. It is held at the International Institute while the parents of campers learn English. A training session of 1.5 hours will be held.
JF&CS is coming to you with walk-in hours at Bnai Amoona, Mondays 2:00-5:00 pm in Classroom 19. During walk-in hours, Michael will provide assessments, locate resources, and arrange for follow-up - all without an appointment. You can come to find services for yourself or for a loved one. Seeking Community Gatekeepers
Jewish Family & Children’s Service is seeking “community connectors” to serve as Gatekeepers for vulnerable seniors. A Gatekeeper helps keep an eye out for relatives, neighbors, or friends who may be struggling with the challenges of aging. The JF&CS team will reach out to and work with these identified seniors one-on-one to develop a plan that helps them maintain independence, confidence, and a sense of connection to the local community. JProStl Debuts Series Focusing on Career by Age and Stage JProStl, the professional association for staff who work throughout the St. Louis Jewish community, is launching a new series, Sharing the Journey. Throughout the summer, staff are invited to choose a session that best fits with their age and career stage. Each discussion will be led by a Rabbi/Jewish educator and one or more professional colleagues.
All programs will take place at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Kaplan Feldman Complex, 12 Millstone Campus Drive, from Noon to 1:30 pm.
The first program, Launching a Meaningful Career, will take place on Wednesday, June 5, and be facilitated by Rabbi Lori Levine of Congregation Shaare Emeth and Nava Kantor of Federation. Participants will reflect on the skills, connections, and vision to grow one’s career. Following in the series on Wednesday, June 19, is Establishing Your Reputation and Expertise for staff in their early 30s to 40 with Rabbi Adam Bellows of United Hebrew, Erin Schreiber of Maryville Hillel, and Andrew Goldfeder of Temple Emanuel.
Future sessions will include Reimaging What’s Possible, for late 30s to 50, Sharing Your Wisdom for late 40s to 50, and Creating a Legacy for 55+.

Volunteers Needed at Covenant Place Covenant Place seeks volunteers for our new dinner program. Volunteers are needed Monday - Friday between 4:00-6:00 pm to help set up, serve and clear dinner. The Kosher dinner is catered by Kohn’s. Volunteering on an ongoing basis is preferred, however sporadic volunteers are welcome too. This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for individuals or groups, and children age 10-15 are invited with an adult. In addition, Covenant Place hosts a monthly Sunday lunch that is perfect for a small group to volunteer together. Groups typically arrive around 11:30 am to set up and prep the food, and lunch is served at 12:30 pm. Ideally the group plans and prepares the food, and Covenant Place reimburses the cost. If the group has entertainment (playing an instrument, singing, dancing, etc.) that is wonderful. Some months have entertainment already scheduled.
